be done over the coming weeks before the F8 release (which is out

I'd like to offer this service but limit it for the livna contributers
and packagers for the start, as I know most of the packages already a bit.
So if your are a livna contributer and your packages in livna devel are
prepared and merged for rpmfusion just let me know if you want me to
import and build them once CVS for rpmfusion is up and running.
I hope to speed up the whole process to get a repo (and especially the
bits up in the depchain) up and running with this.

used by internet mirrors to get their data from; it's also used by the

I can only reiterate what I already said. I find
separating
free/non-free not to be useful and find this layout to be unnecessarily
+unhealthily complex.
Devil's advocate question:
* Do you really think you are able to handle this?
* Do you really think rpmfusion contributors will be able to handle it?
My answer is no to both questions.

Noted. But it was agreed on to have that split and it was even part of
the http://rpmfusion.org/FoundingPrinciples -- so it afaics will be done.

Pix; both servers for this domain just serve a small frontpage and the
static mirrorlists which are to be used in the rpmfusios repo files;
that way everything works if one of the two servers is down
- thias hosts {download,free,nofree}1.rpmfusion.org
- Pix hosts {download,free,nofree}2.rpmfusion.org
- The buildsys uploads to both download{1,2}.rpmfusion.org servers
- the mirrorlist point to {free,nofree}{1,2}.rpmfusion.org (and public
mirrors, once they are there). For browsing purposes for users we want
to have free.rpmfusion.org and nonfree.rpmfusion.org as well; I'd say
DNS points one of those two to the servers from Pix, the other one to
those from thias.

Why not using a yum mirror list file like Fedora?
That's what I meant with "static mirrorlists" ;-)

Yes, we need a repo package. Find one attached that can be used to build
both the nonfree and free repo release rpms. It's based on the one from
livna and uses the paths that I proposed in my last mail. Should be easy
to adjust if we choose to use different paths on the servers.
Do we have anyone around that uses smart as is familiar with it? I'm
suppose the stuff for smart could be improved.

Hi,
Sorry for the long wait, I finally got to creating some Smart channel
definitions for rpmfusion. I've attached the tarball which includes
definitions for i386, x86_64 and ppc.
When I have an extra hour I'll get rpmfusion-package-config-smart
packaged and submit it for review.
