Hi all,
there are some packages that were orphaned by Ian that still need
a maintainer. They are:
fuse-emulator-roms
gcube
KmPg2
mupen64
mupen64-ricevideo
nes_ntsc
sms_ntsc
snes_ntsc
Nes_ntsc is required to build Nestopia. I have an updated RPM but it
cannot be built until nes_ntsc is in RPM Fusion repository.

fusion ?
Only accepted maintainer have access to the CVS/SC to maintain packages.

If you are already a Fedora sponsored packager (i.e. you have packages
in Fedora) you can claim the ownership of these orphaned packages and
you don't need to submit any review.

correct way ?
For example, should I import the existing livna-devel package {ie a
known entity}, or check to see whether upstream has newer releases, and
work to get the newer package going ?
I can also add entries for the other ex dribble packages if that would
be useful {and I'm interested in nes_ntsc & fuse-emulator-roms } ?

That is correct. Start by writing your name on the packages you claim
on that page. Then ask Xavier for CVS access.

If the package was in both Livna and Freshrpms you should merge them.
That is take features from both (where possible) and provide a clean
upgrade path from both.
Moreover, you should normally provide the latest version upstream has
released. Rules are the same that you find in Fedora for updates.

Fuse-emulator-roms has already been taken.
You can get nes_ntsc and the other *_ntsc's, if you want :)

The author says LGPL. Given that they are libraries that simulate what
happens when an image is sent to an old TV, perhaps these would fit in
either free or be OK for Fedora itself {just surmising} ?

one appears to have claimed that I'll put my hand up {and name on the
initial merge page}.
I'm also keen to get audacity-nonfree happening. It seems that I will
need to change names {, apply provides etc} as it will be called
audacity-freeworld in the rpmfusion scheme ?
I request cvs module creation for those two as well if there is no
objections or others already working on them.
But Xavier still might need to adjust
the acls before access to above packages works properly.

Yes.
Everyone must now follow the procedure for any CVS request (new branches,
new owners, new package, etc)

Can you please roughly write down somewhere in the wiki what steps are
needed to create a package in CVS? Seems I'm doing/did something wrong
which leads to the ACLs trouble everyone runs into.

Yes, sortof, as we've actually begun populating CVS that page is becoming
outdated soon. Just drop a mail to the list which packages you want to take and
ask for their CVS modules to be created and you to be added to the ACL for
them. Also note in that mail which mail address you will be using (we're using
pre core/extras merger owner.list style).
Also create a FAS account in rpmfusion's fas:

I think its good to be able to see what has changed, so import either the
latest livna or freshrpms version depending on which you want to use as a base,
and then make changes from there (no need to build that imported version).

Yes that would be very usefull, ideally nothing gets dropped in the whole
drblle/livna/freshrpms -> rpmfusion merger.

The webpage you refered is a bit out of date, I've already clamed and imported
(and merged with freshrpms) mjpegtools as I need that as a dep for
gstreamer-plugins-bad, but you're very welcome to co-maintain!
