Hello all!
This is my first mail to the list, and also my first package review
request ever, and so I would like to introduce myself.
I am a fedora user (and ambassador) since the very beginning of Fedora
(and before I was a long time Red Hat Linux user).
I do have experience in packaging RPM files, but I never created any
package for broader use; this is my first attempt in doing so.
I recently tried PhotoFilmStrip on an Ubuntu machine and I was impressed
because of the easy of use of the program, but I noticed that this has
not been packaged yet for Fedora.
I also noticed that there is actually a packager wishlist for this
application:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/WishList
I wanted to start the process directly within the Fedora umbrella, but I
don't think this is possible since PhotoFilmStrip requires mencoder to
do any useful job (although it doesn't need it to run, it needs it to
create the movies).
I understand that mencoder is a forbidden package for the Fedora
packaging rules, but is available in RPMFusion, so I guess RPMFusion is
also the natural place for PhotoFilmStrip.
I created a first draft for my review process as a bug id: 1597
https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1597
I hope you can help me in the review process and that I can submit this
nice package to the repositories soon :)
Cheers,
Mario
