Enabling RPM Fusion during Fedora Install

Hi all! We all owe Jeremy another beer now, as we fixed this bug two days ago: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=470653 That means: You can enable RPM Fusion in Anaconda during installation of Fedora 10 with anaconda and everything will "Just Work" (TM). I updated (read: reworked and renamed) the page in the wiki that describes how to use RPM Fusion during Install: http://rpmfusion.org/EnablingRpmFusionDuringFedoraInstall Please check and improve the page where you think it needs improving. Note that I simply dropped all pre-F10 notes as it never worked properly due to bugs in anaconda (and F10 will be what most people are interested in soon anyway). The page also could benefit from some screenshots. I didn't do them yet as I still hope we can set up what was discussed one or two weeks ago: a redirect rule on the mirrormanager servers that redirects URLs like http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/10/i386/ to http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist?repo=free-fedora-10&arch=i386 as the former IMHO is way easier to type and to remember. A quick look suggests not, which might limit smart download speed due to hassling specific servers rather than in country rpmfusion mirrors etc. If that is the case, perhaps it would be good to at least include multiple baseurl entries from the repos mirror. Not that we want to re-issue the -config-smart each time mirror are added/removed from the list. what's the purpose of rpmfusion

hi, after the libdvdcss discussion it'd be useful to define the purpose of rpmfusion. first of all imho it's a good thing to merge repos (even further rpmfusion and rpmforge would be nice). but currently it's not clear what kind of packages get into rpmfusion. - only those packages which can't be added to fedora? ie packages which is acceptable for fedora still can be in rpmfusion? - than which packages? - kmods (ok it's clear) - what else? eg: why these packages here rather then fedora: open-vm-tools, xvidcore, x264, gstreamer-plugins-bad, ffmpeg etc it'd be a useful faq or even documented on the start page. -- Levente "Si vis pacem para bellum!"

Hopefully a new member of the team

Hello everybody, my name is Dejan Lekic and I am, among other things a core developer of the FLTK project (http://www.fltk.org). I am a 33 years old software engineer / system developer from Sweden/Serbia (born in Serbia). At the moment I am pursuing my second degree, this time in Computer Science/Management (joint one). I am willing to maintain Portable.NET (or so-called the "dotGNU" project) packages. Portable.NET is an open-source, (L)GPL, implementation of the .NET 2.0 . I use my dotGNU RPMs quiet often and so far I haven't seen any problem with them. I maintain contact with other users of my RPMs via dotGNU's official IRC channel ( irc://irc.freenet.org/dotGNU ) and nobody complained so far. I have some more RPMs that would be very interesting to be in rpmfusion, but, since I am new here, I thought it would be the best to begin with something. :) This said, it is not difficult to understand that I need a menthor (if I understand that is rpmfusion's policy). So if someone wishes to menthor my first RPMs I am more than pleased to get in contact with that person. I will put RPMs somewhere tonight for you to analyse. PS. do we have an IRC channel perhaps?
