Please don't overload the x86 buildsys
by Thorsten Leemhuis
Hi!
Just a note: The network connection to the x86 builder is not the
fattest afaics. So if more then one big package is build and still
downloading then it seems to happen that other big packages build
directly after that will fail to download with a error message like this:
> Job failed on arch x86_64: couldn't download result files from builder 'https://build64.livna.org:8888'.
>
> Please contact the build system administrator.
Requeuing the job should just get the package built.
So if you know you package is big or if you know other big packages are
in the queue then please wait a bit before queuing more jobs. Yeah, that
sucks, but we have to live with that (¹). I'm working on installing a
second x86 builder; hopefully that will make this problem show up less.

PLEASE READ: Import status Dribble, work from maintainers required
by Andrea Musuruane
Hi!
I've just checked the status of all Dribble packages in RPM
Fusion. Status is described in the wiki, so that packagers can update
it:
http://rpmfusion.org/DribbleImport
Many packages still needs to be imported - if you own a package you
really should import it soon.
There is an EVR problem with fuse-emulator-roms that must be fixed:
0.9.0-1 < 1.2-1.fc9.drb. Otherwise upgrade from Dribble will be not
possible.
Bye,
Andrea.

audacity-nonfree, normalize: ? maintainership ?
by Agnes Jones
Michael / All,
With regard to audacity-nonfree and normalize, I don't wish to step on
anyones toes. You are definitely welcome to assume primary ownership of
both of them if that is your intent. I sure the person who has spent a
lot of time understanding the software, tracking bugs, etc is going to
have a much easier and more effective task to maintain them.
Can you let me know ?
Cheers, David Timms.

free packages in nonfree repo
by Julian Sikorski
Hi list,
today I realised that there are two sldmame frontends in the nonfree
repo (qmc2 and gnome-video-arcade), which are perfectly free themselves
as licensed under GPL. Since these pieces of software are pretty much
useless without sdlmame, they were put into the nonfree repo, and have
sdlmame present in their Requires. Do you think they should stay in
nonfree, or rather be moved to free? And what with requires then?
Regards,
Julian

why updated ffmpeg in F-8 and F-9
by David Juran
Hello.
I noticed that ffmpeg in the F-8 and F-9 version of rpmfusion is the
version from livna devel with the new include-files structure. Is this
intentional? I would much rather prefer if the livna F-8 version was
used for rpmfusion F-8 so that I wouldn't have to maintain two different
versions of transcode for livna and rpmfusion.

Just a note: I'm a packager and no infra guy
by Thorsten Leemhuis
Hi!
just a quick note FYI:
Somebody in #rpmfusion on freenode said to me:
> you are responsible for the infra only
Just to set things straight: It might look like that to a lot of people
here, but in fact I have *no* interest in infrastructure work at all
(and not much experience in it). It just happened that I did a lot of it
in livna as there was nearly nobody else that did it (and over time is
seems I became the only one that did it for Livna). Similar in RPM
Fusion -- I just did some infra things here and there as it seemed
somebody had to do them to get things moving.
Because all that takes a lot of my free time I don't own much packages
anymore. I don't like that very much and hope that changes again over
time. I especially would like to see the graphics drivers improved
(parallel installable, Live-CD-capable), want to maintain more kmods in
RPM Fusion, get a RPM Fusion spin online and get RPM Fusion for EL/EPEL
running (the latter likely means I need to maintain a few packages in
that branch that are owned by other people in RPM Fusion for Fedora).
So please consider Xavier the lead infra guy; Nigel Jones ("G") offered
to help him, but has no access to the machines yet; more people are
likely wanted, but maybe its easier to get them into the loop if we have
things running.
My plan is to get mostly (maybe even completely, if possible) out of
infra work for RPM Fusion as soon as possible -- hopefully that is soon
after we have RPM Fusion running and shut down the livna builder to
reinstall it for RPM Fusion.
