XBMC packages

Hi! On the RPMfusion Wishlist is XBMC As it's also on my personal wishlist, I created some XBMC packages. They can be found at http://rolffokkens.dyndns.org/. The packages are based on packages by Scott Harvanek, I modified them so XBMC 9.11 beta 1 compiles and runs on Fedora 11 and Fedora 12. Though my single purpose is to have XBMC for my HTPC project, the packages may also be a starting point for inclusion in RPMfusion. I can assist to make this happen, though I don't have a strong ambition to be a RPMfusion contributor. So positive feedback may stimulate me to make the packages RPMfusion-ready, but I'm perfectly happy with the packages the way they are now. Cheers! Rolf

Audacious 2.2 heads-up

Hi! Here are a couple of items I've noticed while evaluating Audacious 2.2 development (in F-13 devel since September), which affect the -freeworld plugins package: * plugins removed: alac, tta * plugins added: ffaudio (that also obsoletes the Musepack plugin) * new build requirements: faad2-devel, ffmpeg-devel * potentially useful as a subpackage: sidplay2 plugin (then the sidplay1 "sid.so" in Fedora could be split off, too!) * plugin packages built for Audacious 2.1 are not compatible with Audacious 2.2 (API check fails during load) Regards, Michael

Supporting Moblin?

Hi all, We've so far provided add-on packages for Fedora and RHEL; it would appear that, with a reasonable amount of work, we should be able to support Moblin as well. There are several posts online on using RPMfusion's gstreamer-bad with Moblin, but as the codebases diverge more, it's getting more and more difficult to get the Fedora RPMs working as-is. Is anyone interested in this? Are there written instructions on how to add a new Mock target to the build system? Thanks, -- Michel Alexandre Salim
