[Bug 283] New: revel - Really easy video encoding library
by RPM Fusion Bugzilla
http://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283
Summary: revel - Really easy video encoding library
Product: Package Reviews
Version: Current
Platform: All
OS/Version: GNU/Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: Review Request
AssignedTo: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
ReportedBy: fabian(a)bernewireless.net
CC: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
Estimated Hours: 0.0
Spec URL: http://bernewireless.net/files/rpms/revel.spec
SRPM URL: http://bernewireless.net/files/rpms/revel-1.1.0-1.fc9.src.rpm
Project URL: http://revel.sourceforge.net/
Description:
Revel is a library designed to be the shortest, simplest path between
your application and high-quality well-compressed video output. Any
program that generates a series of successive images (e.g. video games,
3D graphics applications, media players, animation packages) can use Revel
to output a compressed AVI video, without having to know hardly anything
about the overwhelming esoterica of video encoding. Revel is implemented
in C++, but the public API is in plain old C for maximum compatibility.
Why not in Fedora?
Because xvidcore is not in Fedora.
rpmlint output:
[fab@laptop024 i386]$ rpmlint revel*
revel.i386: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/include/revel.h
revel.i386: W: devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/lib/librevel.a
1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 2 warnings.
I'm not able to build a proper -debuginfo file because of that I added '%define
debug_package %{nil}' to suppress the rpmlint warning about this.
[fab@laptop024 SRPMS]$ rpmlint revel-1.1.0-1.fc9.src.rpm
1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 0 warnings.
This is my first package for RPMFusion.

[Bug 167] New: Review request: anyremote-J2ME-client - J2ME client for anyRemote
by RPM Fusion Bugzilla

anyRemote is bluetooth remote control software.
anyremote-J2ME-client is J2ME client for anyRemote. This J2ME client should
be installed on JSR-82 capabled cell phone.
SRPM
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/anyremote/anyremote-J2ME-client-4.10-1.f...
Beware: Actually to build anyremote-J2ME-client it needs to install Sun WTK
and Proguard.
So, if possible i can specify SRPM and .spec for package which contains
prebuild
java midlet. This can simplify package build process by elimination of
Sun WTK-Proguard toolchain.
This package can not be included into Fedora because it uses for build Sun WTK
toolkit, which is free, but not open source.
This is my first RPM Fusion package (and i have 4 packages in Fedora repo).

[Bug 48] New: Review Request: freej - a vision mixer for video DJs on Linux

SPEC: http://ynemoy.fedorapeople.org/repo.nonfree/freej.spec
FreeJ is a digital instrument for video livesets, featuring realtime
rendering of multilayered video and chained effect filtering directly
on the screen. It plays with video4linux devices, DIVX/AVI files, and
PNG images, letting you dynamically apply on each layer a chain of
effect plugins.
NOTE: This package is hard-coded to require an MMX capable processor.

4 packages and 1 specfiles checked; 4 errors, 3 warnings.
FreeJ has a built in javascript interpreter. rpmlint is not intelligent enough
to realize this. The rest is a silly warning.
This package depends on libffmpeg which is not available in Fedora.
Note: First time submitter.

[Bug 1316] New: Review Request: ffms2 - An FFmpeg based source library for easy frame accurate access

SPEC: http://rathann.fedorapeople.org/review/ffms2.spec
SRPM: http://rathann.fedorapeople.org/review/ffms2-2.13-1.fc12.src.rpm
Description:
FFmpegSource (usually known as FFMS or FFMS2) is a cross-platform
wrapper library around FFmpeg, plus some additional components to deal
with file formats FFmpeg's libavformat has (or used to have) problems
with. It gives you an easy, convenient way to say "open and decompress
this media file for me, I don't care how you do it" and get frame- and
sample-accurate access (usually), without having to bother with the
sometimes less than straightforward and less than perfectly documented
FFmpeg API.
The library is written in C++, but the public API is C-friendly and it
should be possible to simply include and link directly with a pure C
application. The source is available under the MIT license, but the
binaries are GPL licensed because they need to be linked against a GPL'd
FFmpeg.
Why not in Fedora?
It's a wrapper around FFmpeg with strict dependency.

SRPM: http://ricky.fedorapeople.org/pkgs/tarsnap/tarsnap-1.0.27-1.fc14.src.rpm
Description:
Tarsnap is an online encrypted backup service. It presents a tar-like
command-line interface, but stores data online rather than locally;
using ideas taken from the author's FreeBSD Update and Portsnap
utilities, it maximizes performance by recognizing duplicate data and
only storing it once, and cryptographically encrypts and signs archives
using locally-held keys in order to guarantee that nobody without access
to the key file (including the author) can read or modify archives.
Reason it cannot be in Fedora:
This package cannot be included in Fedora because it contains code under the
following license:
Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, without modification,
is permitted for the sole purpose of using the "tarsnap" backup service
provided by Colin Percival.
rpmlint output:

This is my first RPM Fusion package (I am a Fedora packager).
