Mass rebuild on 24th of July
by Nicolas Chauvet
Hi there,
There is a mass rebuild to be scheduled for f29 before branching
As per the fedora 29 schedule, the branching should occurs around 14th
of August in Fedora side.
It would be nice to branch at the same time (or close enough)
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/29/Schedule
I would expect to start next week (on 24th of July), so this leave some room to:
- Fix FTBFS fedora packages so it's not the previous and outdated
version that lands in buildroot.
- have a better fedora toolchain that would avoid us to head yet
another mass rebuild (remember f28 ?).
As a side note, in f29 the compiler is expected to be removed from the
default buildroot.
I see no point to remove it at this point in time for RPM Fusion (just
before the mass rebuild), but I will probably remove it in rawhide
after f29 is branched. So please add BR: gcc or gcc-c++ as needed.
Thx

Seeking nvidia legacy maintainers for 390xx/340xx series
by Nicolas Chauvet
Hi,
Just to inform that with the 396+ nvidia release, the support for
fermi GPU will be dropped.
If you have such GPU, the current workaround will be to use the 340xx
serie or to switch to nouveau.
NVIDIA plans to maintain the 390xx serie for few time, so this can be
added as a new package.
I've started to work on the packaging (1) , but it requires more time
and work that Leigh or me can offer (for free).
So anyone to volunteer to maintain the 390xx driver (same for 340xx serie).
Thx in advance.
(btw, we plan to move to 396+ to stable in the coming days).
