IMHO, mpg321 should just get obsoleted by mpg123. It was a rewrite of mpg123
from the time when mpg123 was non-Free software. It has been abandoned for
ages, and these days mpg123 is LGPLed.
Taking a closer look at the mpg321 package (to send a mail to the person who
last worked on it) I found out that it is already using alternatives. So I've
decided to make the mpg123 package use alternatives too, this way both packages
can peacefully co-exist.
Here is an updated version using alternatives:
