Why would we want a package specific to the maemo platform knowing that the
distro itself does not officialy support the platform? If you think I missed
it, could you point me to the Fedora maemo support page?
You could package it as
preliminary support! At least some components are there
(there is libhildon). Been announced as a supported Feature would mean all
components are there and usage of the whole framework have been proven.
Now that can be done as an incomplete task (and been advertised as that in the
maemo sub-package).
Anyway that's not that important since I don't own such device myself.
Do as you want.

I am not suggesting the freeworld keyword should go but rather that using
subpackages would be consistent with other alsa-plugins subpackages. Splitting
the package has the additional benefit of not bloating the streamlined setup of
an embedded device. I would prefer to see 2 packages, one containing the a52
plugin: alsa-plugins-freeworld-a52 and the other having the lavcrate:
alsa-plugins-freeworld-lavcrate even if they both depend on libavcodec.
OK I will
follow this method. Am I allowed to keep the alsa-plugins-freeworld
as an empty package that will pick -a52 and -lavcrate ?
