IMPORTANT: LiVES version 2.8.8 (released 10 Mar 2018) contained a
serious dataloss issue.
Please do not create production builds from it. Use this version (2.8.9)
instead.
This message is intended for packagers of LiVES (http://lives-video.com
<http://lives-video.com>). Please forward as appropriate. Please let me
know if any addresses should be added to or removed from this list.
Hi all,
first of all apologies. It turns out there was a dataloss issue with
version 2.8.8 which I have now fixed. In case anybody opened any Sets
with version 2.8.8 you will need to follow the procedure outlined in the
Release Notes here: http://lives-video.com/index.php?do=downloads
<http://lives-video.com/index.php?do=downloads>
Another old issue to do with GUI timing reared it's ugly head again in
2.8.8. This could cause a crash when reloading Sets or recovering files.
I believe I now have the definitive fix for this, and it is included in
2.8.9. If anybody still experiences a crash with the text
"Gtk:ERROR:/build/gtk+3.0-2Ut_nl/gtk+3.0-3.18.9/./gtk/gtkprogressbar.c:611:tick_cb:
assertion failed: (priv->pulse2 > priv->pulse1)" or similar please let
me know.
Changelog for 2.8.9

ppc64le builder down until tomorrow
by Nicolas Chauvet
Hi,
Due to a scheduled migration , an unexpected issue occurred on the ppc64le.
The server will be offline mostly today. Please hold your build if possible.
(and do some review...)
noarch build will be okay along with build that doesn't support ppc64le already.
Thx

Request more than one module from Review Request?
by Richard Shaw
Just yesterday Ubiquity announced a LTS version of their Unifi controller
software currently under review for the RF Non-free repository.
When the review is approved I would like to request both a "unifi" and
"unifi-lts" module in pkgdb. The packages will be identical other than the
version of the software.
Does anyone see a problem with this? A second Review Request seems overkill
for this situation.
Thanks,
Richard

Hi Vasiliy,
Can you either revert the update for el7 to a buildable state or
revert the upstream commit in el7 that bump to this requirement if
possible ?
In any cases, there is a need to have what's built on el7 to match
what's in git. (so any needed rebuilt have a chance to work).
Thx
